2024 CelloFest Music:
Shostakovich Waltz no. 2, Alencar Quartet no. 4, Lachner Serenade, and pieces by Taylor Swift, the Beatles, AeroSmith, and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World."
Cello 1: Features the full range of the instrument, uses all three clefs (bass, treble, and tenor. Recommended Level: Suzuki Book 7-up
Cello 2: Features some upper range material. Students should be able to read treble and tenor. Recommended Level: Suzuki Book 6-up
Cello 3: Features some tenor clef. Mostly mid-lower range. Recommended Level: Suzuki Book 5-up
Cello 4: All bass clef. Mostly mid-lower range. Recommended Level: 1+ year of study. For those that are newer to cello, you might consider the "optional cello 4" with less music to prepare.

Cello 1: Students should be comfortable in 2nd and 4th position.
Cello 2: Very little shifting, but some 4th position.
Cello 3: Everything in first position without any shifting.
Cello 4: Students should be comfortable on the lower strings, including the C string.
